PEERSĀ® Denver offers parent/coach-assisted social skills programs for teens (ages 13-17) as well as young adults (ages 17-29). Developed at UCLA, the PEERSĀ® program is backed by extensive research showing positive and lasting results in the social lives of the teens and young adults who participate. The goal of the program is to teach skills that are essential for making and keeping friends (and in the young adult program, dating skills are also covered). Meetings are held for 90 minutes once per week over a 16-week period. Each week, the teens and young adults will learn a new set of skills in a particular topic area (for example, starting and maintaining conversations, joining group conversations, having get-togethers, etc.), and they will also get a chance to practice those skills through games, role plays, and other activities. Parents/coaches will meet all together in a separate group at the same time as the teens and young adults. Parents/coaches will learn the exact same skills as their teens and young adults, but they will get specific instruction in how to act as social coaches, so they can most effectively support their teen or young adult in practicing and applying the skills. Groups will be offered both virtually and in-person beginning in January of 2022. For a free 15-20 minute phone screen to learn more about whether this program is the right fit for you and your family, please call the Program Director, Dr. Jason Peirce, at 720-645-8827.

My name is Ryan Welborn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a degree from Naropa University. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with emotional challenges, trauma, and difficulty in navigating personal growth. I help by utilizing an integrative approach that blends Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with psychodynamic, transpersonal, and mindfulness-based techniques. My goal is to support you in facing and transforming the challenges that arise in your life, guiding you through a process of deep healing and self-discovery. In our first few sessions, you can expect a supportive space where we will begin exploring the deeper layers of your inner world. Together, we will uncover and work through what holds you back, cultivating resilience and creating lasting change. My practice is unique because I view therapy as a transformative journey, yet ultimately leading to a more authentic and fulfilling life. I am passionate about this work because I believe in the power of facing challenges head-on and emerging stronger. Helping others navigate their own transformation is incredibly meaningful to me.

I identify as a Togolese immigrant, daughter, sister, fur-mom, and wife in an interracial marriage. These identities influence how I show up as a therapist and constantly evolve each day. The challenges I have faced have given me both the insight and desire to work with individuals, couples, and families through their hurdles and to help them find what is and isnāt their story. I believe in the idea of assisting individuals, couples & families of different backgrounds to find their path instead of feeling stuck and tied down to societal expectations or their past maladaptive patterns. Due to the unique makeup of our world, I use an integrative approach with my clients; this allows me to use modalities that best suit the need of my clients. I value providing warmth, kindness, empathy, and directness when needed. I hope this little bio reflects my passion for working with humans of all different backgrounds and the depth of sacredness I hold for being a part of your stories.

I greatly enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and am passionate about serving as an advocate as well as honoring and celebrating clients' identities in our work together. Asking for help can feel like failure. But itās actually the smartest thing you can do. Youāre at a rigorous university. Youāre surrounded by smart, accomplished people. Everyone seems to have it together: classes, social life, and future plans despite all the pressure. Except youāre in your room at 2 AM and your anxiety is spiraling. Or youāre making a decision that feels impossibly huge and you have no idea which way to turn. Or youāre just⦠exhausted. The problem isnāt that youāre not capable. The problem is youāre trying to figure out who you actually are while everyone expects you to have it all figured out. Thatās where I come in. Iām Debbie Miller, a therapist who gets college students. I spent 25 years in Ann Arbor and worked extensively with University of Michigan students. I know the academic pressure, the social dynamics, the Greek life culture, the competitive environment. I still work with Michigan students via telehealth, and I genuinely understand what itās like to be where you are. I work with students who feel overwhelmed by pressure, confused about their future, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating major transitions. Students who know something needs to shift but arenāt sure how. Hereās the approach: We work together to help you become an expert on yourself. Weāre a team. My job isnāt to tell you what to do, itās to ask the right questions so you hear your own voice clearly. To challenge you on beliefs that hold you back. To help you figure out what actually matters to you (not what you think should matter). This isnāt always comfortable, but discomfort is usually a sign that real growth is happening. Your pace, your direction. Thatās the deal. Ready to talk? Call or email me to schedule your free consultation.
When Life Doesnāt Go According to Plan - THERAPY FOR LIFE AFTER LOSS, TRAUMA, & PROFOUND CHANGE You may be thinking, "This is not the life I ordered." Many of my clients once had a clear sense of where life was headed. Then loss, trauma, or unexpected change altered the path. They lost a person, a future, a sense of safety, a version of themselves, or the life they thought they would have. Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck between versions of their life, or exhausted from trying to āmove onā from something that still deeply impacts them. This work isn't about finding a bright side. It's about making space for what happened, understanding who you are now, and learning how to live in a life that no longer resembles what you expected. My practice focuses on grief, trauma, traumatic grief, reproductive trauma and loss, relationship challenges, family-of-origin issues, self-esteem, identity shifts, and major life transitions. I work with individuals, couples, and families ages 15 and older.
I specialize in supporting teens, women, and LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma. In our first few sessions we will explore how you move through the world and establish goals for therapy together based on your unique experiences and strengths. I offer both online and in-person sessions at West Wind Counseling. I am trained in evidence based counseling practices, trauma-informed mindfulness, DBT, traumatology, and am working toward EMDR certification. I also use somatic based interventions and parts work in sessions. Ask me about climbing therapy, which offers a unique way to explore how we navigate challenges, build resilience, and practice mindfulness!
Everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, accepted, and truly heardāespecially when life gets confusing or tough. My goal is to be that space for you, where we can talk through whatās on your mind and help you feel more in control. I work alongside my mini golden doodle, Ellie, who adds to the calm and comforting environment during our sessions. If youāre dealing with overwhelming challenges, whether from past experiences or current pressures, Iām here to help you make sense of it all. This is a place where you can be your authentic self, knowing you wonāt be judged. Together, weāll explore whatās going on in your life and work through it in a way that feels supportive and healing. Weāll also focus on practical ways to handle stress, discover what makes you unique, and develop skills to make life feel more manageable. You donāt need to have it all figured out right nowāif youāre ready to explore who you are and find new ways to navigate lifeās challenges, Iām here to help you every step of the way.
