Everyone experiences distressing or overwhelming challenges at different points in life. Many people struggle to manage these inevitable difficulties, get stuck and then subsequently feel defined by their emotional pain. This can negatively impact relationships, ambitions, work and self-worth. I believe in people’s inherent right to live meaningful and joyful lives and in their ability to choose how to respond to life’s challenges. I support my clients through their courageous process of self-exploration and self-compassion. My therapeutic approach involves treating people as a whole: mind, body & spirit. This allows people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and with the support of an authentic and collaborative therapeutic relationship, my clients are able to make the changes they want. My areas of specialty include trauma, addictions, depression and anxiety disorders. I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. EMDR is recognized as a highly effective trauma treatment and allows people to heal from emotional pain that has stemmed from distressing life experiences. “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional” H.M.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" (Tao Te Ching). I know how hard that first step can be. I have been a therapist for over 20 years, and I'm here to help you through struggles and teach you techniques and coping skills that can help you manage your stress levels, communicate better with loved ones, achieve a balance between work and relaxation, and change patterns that no longer serve you. I have extensive experience working with adults, children (age 10+), adolescents, couples and families and used evidence based treatments to bring about relief quickly. If you're looking for extra support through a challenging situation or want to move in a new direction in life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. My approach is eclectic and individualized including (but not limited to) CBT, Strengths-Based Therapy, EMDR, Meditation/Mindfulness. I like to create a safe environment for clients to explore challenges, express their needs, and work towards a happier, healthier life. My schedule is open to day and evening appointments, and I welcome you to contact me. We are all "works in progress."
My clients don't come to therapy to hear someone nod and agree with everything they say. That isn't worth their time or money. They want real help. They want to know "what to do" and "how to fix it" because they are struggling with depression, severe anxiety, relationship problems, trauma, suicidal thoughts, parenting issues, and other painful situations. They're looking for a true expert that they can actually talk to. I am a member of PSYPACT which means I can see clients in every state that is a member of PSYPACT. I'm also licensed in both TN and MA. I'm a DBT-Linehan Board Certified Clinician and an expert in Borderline Personality Disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, self-harm, and oppositional adolescents. I am an Associate faculty member at Vanderbilt University and have served as a trainer and consultant for a variety of hospitals, schools, and the military. I founded and own PSYCHē, PLLC, a private network of therapists across multiple states. Our job is to pair our clients with great clinicians all over the country. PSYCHē also offers various Standard DBT skills groups and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) skills classes online ranging from $100-$125. New members can begin right away! Visit www.psychepllc.com/groups for more information about groups, meeting times, or to enroll online. Changing people's lives for the better is my life's purpose and where I get a sense of meaning. I love my job :) I look forward to meeting you.
At times in our lives we need additional support to navigate challenges and strengthen our internal capacity to cope. Together we will strive to understand your unique story and identify areas you want to work on in our meetings. Often this means increasing your awareness of patterns, understanding your own emotional responses, and strengthening coping skills. My style as a therapist is collaborative, relational, and strengths based. I use multiple treatment modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a treatment that facilitates healing from emotional distress from difficult life experiences, as well as solution focused and cognitive behavioral techniques. It is a great privilege as a therapist to walk with others on their path toward growth and healing. I hope we can work togethe

I am a client-centered psychologist who works with adults and adolescents (13+). I believe therapy should involve the whole person - including our internal, social, societal, spiritual, and physical selves. I invite clients to be collaborators in finding and exploring what will help them achieve growth. I provide a warm, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment and believe a strong client-therapist relationship is essential for growth and change. I integrate aspects of multiple therapeutic modalities, including behavioral approaches (CBT, DBT, behavioral medicine/health psychology), mindfulness-based interventions, humanism, existential, relational and developmental theory, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic-informed care. I help patients/clients address a range of concerns including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use struggles, difficulties in relationships, grief/loss, identifying life goals, navigating life transitions, and balancing work-life demands. I received my training at William James College (Newton, MA). Trained with Advocates Community Counseling, Rutgers University College Counseling, and Boston Behavioral Medicine. I completed a post-doctoral behavioral health fellowship at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates and worked there as a staff psychologist until October 2019.
