I specialize in deep, long-term therapy for people who want to better understand themselves, their relationships and the world around them. We all create patterns and parts of ourselves to survive as best we can in an unpredictable world. One of the most enriching endeavors to embark on is an explorations of ourselves in a deep and intentional way. It can be transcendental to work with someone to unravel behaviors and unconscious patterns and to begin to discover our essential selves.
I work best with students who feel stressed, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the next steps in their life—whether that’s managing academic pressure, navigating relationships, or figuring out what comes after graduation. I help students make sense of their experiences, manage stress, and find practical ways to feel more balanced and confident. My sessions are supportive, and collaborative, giving you a space to be heard and explore what matters most to you.
My primary focus is meeting every client’s need to be seen, valued, and heard. I believe first and foremost in establishing a positive relationship and from there continuing to meet needs as continued levels of respect and trust are established. It is my goal to meet someone where they are at, and therefore different techniques will be helpful for different people. There are times where direct, actionable steps are appropriate, and there are times when what you really need is to sit and process your feelings. I can help navigate these things with you and give you the tools to go forward confidently.

As a professional counselor and family therapist who's spent the better part of the past decade helping teens and adolescents navigate the transition to college and the beginnings of their young adult lives, as well as helping international students acclimate to their new environment, I'm here to let you know that ... Despite what anyone tells you, you don't need to have it all figured out. What many people don't want to admit or face is that life is a continuous process of growth and change. However, once you realize and embrace that fact, everything else becomes much easier, more rewarding, and fun. This is what counseling for college students and young adults is all about: learning to embrace change, discover who you really are, and create the relationships and life you desire and deserve. My job as a psychotherapist is to help you explore your values and beliefs and align your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with who you really are, so you can let go of any unnecessary tension, cope with and move past anxiety and depression, communicate more effectively with others, and live a more authentic and joyous life. And it doesn't have to take a long time. You don't need to be in therapy until you're middle-aged! You decide on your goals for our work together, and we'll figure out the most effective and efficient ways of achieving them. If you're ready to embrace this time in your life, discover your personal power and feel confident and comfortable making big decisions, enjoy exploring all of the possibilities for the future, and make sure you’re on the right path for you, I encourage you to contact me today.

My goal is to make therapy feel both effective and deeply human. My approach My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices like ACT, EMDR, and CBT. I work to create a space where you feel safe, truly heard and understood - where we can explore what's going on beneath the surface at your own pace. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or other life challenges, we'll work together to clarify your goals and move toward meaningful change. My focus I work well with Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma, People navigating relationship challenges (romantic, family, or interpersonal), Adults who want to feel more understood, supported, and empowered, Clients who value authenticity, warmth, and a therapist who keeps things real. My communication style In our sessions, I aim to create an open and comfortable space where you feel truly heard. I communicate warmth, honesty, and care, always focused on meeting you where you are. My approach is collaborative, so we'll work together to understand your challenges and set realistic goals. I believe in being direct, but I also understand that this work can be difficult, so I try to bring humor into the mix when appropriate, because therapy doesn't always have to be serious to be effective. My goal is for you to feel supported, empowered, and safe throughout our time together. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist started early- my mom was a therapist, so I grew up surrounded by conversations about psychology and what it means to support others. But it wasn't until I faced my own challenges and sought therapy as a young adult that I truly felt the power of this work. That experience lit a fire in my to help others the way I had been helped. I've always been fascinated by human dynamics -what makes us grow, what gives life meaning, and how we can create fulfilling connections. Training in EMDR was a turning point in my career as I got to witness people heal in powerful ways from things they'd carried for so long but didn't know how to move through. That deepened my passion even more. I continue to be inspired by voices like Brene Brown, Dr. Gabor Mate, and Dr. Lindsay Gibson, who remind me of the importance of compassion-both for ourselves and each other. That's the energy I bring into therapy: curiosity, care, and a deep belief in your capacity to heal and grow. My goals for you In our first sessions, I take time to understand your story and what changes you're hoping for. We'll set meaningful goals together using evidence-based practices, balancing structure with flexibility so we can move at your pace. I check in on progress regularly and adapt goals as needed, always working collaboratively to overcome any barriers. My hope is that as you grow, you'll learn to create the life you want. My first session with you Your first session with me is all about getting to know you and creating a space that feels safe, welcoming, and judgement-free. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, explore a bit of your background, and start identifying what you'd like to focus on. There's no pressure to have it all figured out-this is a time for us to slow down, connect, and begin building a relationship that supports your goals. I'll also answer any questions you have about the therapy process and what our work together might look like. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling seen, supported, and a little more hopeful about what's ahead.
Each person comes to therapy for unique and personal reasons. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or undervalued in your relationships or career choices. You might be very good at taking care of others, but don’t pay as much attention to yourself. You may not fit into conventional categories with how you identify, or how others relate to you. I am a licensed clinical psychologist who empowers folks like you to connect to their authentic selves and make meaningful changes in their life. I frequently work with graduate students, and specialize in working with underrepresented communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients, creative thinkers, artists and activists. I welcome clients of all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, races, faiths, and abilities.
Whether you are experiencing difficulty in the here and now or struggling with things of your past, having a neutral, safe place to work through that is just for you can help. I have found that college students are at a prime place in their lives to make a meaningful impact through talk therapy. Career choices, family expectations, and relationships can take a toll on mental health and feel overwhelming at times. Therapy can help.
As a QTPOC clinician, my passion is working with folks who experience multilayered marginalized identities to help us all learn, grow, and evolve.

I work with students and young adults who feel like they’re figuring life out without a roadmap, whether you are a first-generation, LGBTQ+, or anyone carrying pressure to succeed while quietly feeling lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of their direction. My own path wasn’t traditional; I dropped out of high school due to circumstances beyond my control before finding mentorship, earning my GED, and becoming a first-generation college graduate from UCLA. I know what it feels like to question your purpose, to feel unseen, or to believe everyone else has it together except you. With over 13 years in education as a teacher, counselor, and mental health specialist — and more than 7 years providing psychotherapy to transitional-aged youth and adults, I bring both lived experience and professional training to our work. I created Easy Peasy Counseling because life isn’t actually “easy peasy,” but I believe even the messy, heavy seasons can become meaningful and transformative with the right support. Therapy with me is about partnership, empowerment, and helping you rediscover the resilient, capable parts of yourself that may have been dimmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, or major life transitions. Let's get to work together so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
Hey! I’m Afshin — pronounced “of-sheen,” like the glimmer in your eye when you realize you're allowed to feel your feelings and still be funny about it. Looking for someone who’s real, queer, neurodivergent-friendly, and actually shows up in the room with you? I’m really glad you’re here. I work with new parents running on crumbs and caffeine, teens navigating identity and pressure, young adults facing messy transitions, and LGBTQIA+ folks tired of translating their experience for people who just don’t get it. I pull from Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused approaches — but mostly, I bring curiosity, honesty, humor, and a human-first vibe. I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” healing. Some weeks we’re untangling trauma; other weeks, we’re celebrating tiny wins — like eating a real meal or setting a boundary without the shame. My core values? Radical kindness, transparency, and the belief that being “too much” is a damn superpower. If you’re craving therapy that feels like a mix between a grounding conversation and a gentle push toward who you actually want to be — let’s talk. I’m here when you’re ready.
Are you feeling stuck in recurring, painful patterns? Do you find yourself navigating challenges such as anxiety, loss, loneliness, irritation, or spiritual distress? In our personal journeys and closest relationships, we often struggle to lead the lives we truly desire. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) for couples, I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to help you move from internal conflict to a more satisfying, connected way of living.
My clients usually approach me when they are ready to make a change in their lives. They are experiencing conflicts, inside themselves or with others, and are looking for an empathic, flexible and dynamic clinician to provide support and guidance. Hello, I am Dr. Keisha C. White, a Clinical and School Psychologist in private practice (virtual/telehealth therapy) at KCW Psychological Services and MLH Psychology. My work has focused on helping individuals with anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal relationships (family, platonic, romantic), work-life balance, life transitions, special-education assessment, Individual Education Plans (IEP), and fostercare/adoption/transracial adoption therapy. I earned my Bachelor Degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey, double majoring in Dance and Psychology. I trained as a psychologist in New Jersey, New York City, and California. I completed an APA accredited internship at Pacific Clinics and Post Doctoral Fellowship at both Harbor UCLA Medical Center and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. I have worked in hospital (inpatient and residential), college psychological services, outpatient clinics, as well as, community, school, and home-based settings. As an African American woman growing up in multicultural and ethnically diverse communities, I understand the interrelated impact of diverse cultures, individual differences, and environmental contexts on the development and worldviews of individuals. I recognize the importance yet challenges with having multifaceted identities (e.g., race, age, sexual identity, religion, socio-economic status, education, personal interests…etc) and remaining “true to self,” while engaging in mainstream culture. With this knowledge, I continue to instill in my clients (as well as myself) the importance of maintaining mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health and wellness practices, as well as, feelings of HOPE, self-acceptance, and the understanding that the experiences I have had and the choices I have made are not finite and do not solely define my identity. My clients and I are both “agents of change,” constantly progressing, and continuously developing through this journey called life. I am focused on facilitating hope and healing through mental health and wellness practices for my clients, as well as underrepresented groups in the mental health space. I connect with my clients through my personal experiences, and utilize my professional training and creativity to assist my clients with developing and implementing individualized effective strategies to address their challenges. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in practice for 7 years. I have been in practice at Forward Focus Counseling Huntington Beach for 4 years. I work with individuals, couples, and families offering remote tele-health based video services. I graduated from LMU with a Masters in counseling with a focus of working with diverse populations. My outlook is to help provide support with an empathic, compassionate, accepting, and non-judgmental approach. It is important to me that my clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and to strengthen the tools they have to eventually work through whatever they experience. My goal is to make a positive difference and impact on the lives of others.
I once heard someone doing a lecture say, “we know what we believe when we hear what we say.” This would definitely inform the kind of therapy you would experience with me. I view the client as the one who has the answers, and we’re working together to solve a mystery. One of my roles is to help my client tell the story, point out clues being overlooked, gently challenge entrenched beliefs, provide unconditional positive regard, and help the client make sense of their difficulties and their world. Our work together would be collaborative. I’m not a “sit, nod, and take notes” therapist. I’m interactive, and socratic, and relational. I view thoughts, feelings, and behaviors from a lens of curiosity; wondering what beliefs are behind them; helping to root out dynamics that help those things persist. Often we are stuck in a distorted comfort in familiar pain and we simply cannot see it without someone reflecting that in the room. I am an integrative (drawing from multiple therapeutic orientations) humanist-existential therapist; an enthusiastic cheerleader. I will bring humor and validation into the session. I’m passionate about brain chemistry. I am social-justice oriented. I am also trauma-informed. While I work in many different focuses of psychotherapy, I find that the most pervasive themes in my work with clients include: adjustment to life changes, problems with alcohol and substance use (and the way that co-occurring mental health issues interact with it), LGBTQIA+ topics, issues of neurodiversity, anxiety and depression, personality disorders, identity & esteem development, and healthy relationships of all shapes and sizes. I am experienced, both professionally and personally, working with a variety of relationship configurations and am highly comfortable talking about issues of sex positivity and non-standard definitions of families and relationships such as polyamory and non-monogamy. I am a licensed therapist, an addiction professional, a bit of a technology geek, and a fellow traveler in recovery. In addition to those things, I am Compliance Officer at an all women’s addiction treatment center where I’ve worked in various capacities ranging from counselor to director since 2010. I have also been an adjunct professor in the Master’s program at Pacific Oaks College, an adjunct professor for Glendale College’s Drug Studies program, and I served on the board of the California Association for Drug/Alcohol Educators (CAADE). I am a member of CAMFT at both the state level and in the San Gabriel Valley chapter.
