Dr. Miller earned her Masters and Doctoral training from the California School of Professional Psychology-San Diego, specializing in youth, families, and trauma. Dr. Miller received her B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Developmental Psychology. While she is specially trained to treat youth, she welcomes clients of all ages who are suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders, trauma (remote/recent), life transitions, individual and families dealing with the disease of addiction, and those seeking personal growth. Dr. Miller has extensive experience working with military families, active duty and retired service members, and is trained to provide specialized treatment to veterans suffering from PTSD. While Dr. Miller's treatment approaches are tailored to each individual, her interventions are rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, and Insight Oriented Therapy. Dr. Miller strives to provide trauma-sensitive and culturally sensitive treatment in an effort to hold a safe space for clients to trust and allow their stories to be heard and appreciated. Dr. Miller's mindfulness training began as a participant in an 8-week MBSR course at UC San Diego. Since that time she has followed this journey of mindfulness training and become a Certified MBSR Teacher at UCSD's Center for Mindfulness where she has facilitated over 30, 8-week mindfulness courses. She is currently in training to become a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher. On a personal note, Dr. Miller loves learning--reading, listening to books and podcasts, and browsing the internet in search of inspiration. She also finds immense value in slowing down, meditating daily, naps, and practicing gratitude for all the good. She especially likes spending time at home with her husband and children, her pets Barney, Goose, Bubbs & Luna, or with a good book. Students seek me out because they are searching for more than just a place to vent. We will work collaboratively and creatively in order to cultivate a deep level of healing and wellbeing within you that is not dependent upon specific circumstances. In therapy you'll learn to use life's challenges as portals to true self-care and wellbeing. My job is to empower you to be your own, wise healer. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
It is discouraging to navigate a world that doesn’t see you, that misunderstands you or makes you invisible based on your gender, race, sexuality, size, trauma history and a host of other factors. Systemic oppression impacts your mental health as much your history does. It can be intimidating to reach out to a therapist because you want to find someone who really understands you. Mental health has a history of victim-blaming and pathologizing. I am a queer therapist offering trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples. I utilize an intersectional feminist and social justice lens. I specialize in working with queer, gender-blessed and other non-mainstream individuals and relationships, including non-monogamous, age-gap, cross-cultural and queer relationships.
If you’re feeling stuck after trying to do things on your own, then therapy could help you move forward. Together, you’ll learn to break old patterns, find joy in your life, and build a better path forward. Along the way, you’ll learn to navigate difficult situations, gain confidence, and express yourself authentically. Let's work together to overcome the issues causing indecisiveness, performance issues, and low self-esteem. Together, we'll create a way for you to meet your potential, break old patterns, and start on a better path forward. My approach is eclectic to fit your needs, help build your strengths, and create opportunities for growth. We'll create sustainable goals that align with your values and find strategies to overcome obstacles. My work draws from many years of helping adults, families, children, and couples in clinics, schools, and community settings. Therapy can be hard, so I want to make it comfortable for you. I'm a gamer and use video games in sessions to help you feel more at ease, build skills, and process your difficulties. Games, art, play, and many creative activities have been used in therapy to help people process their difficulties, express themselves, and make therapy personal.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of diverse experience in mental health, including work at the VA San Diego Healthcare System and UC San Diego. My career spans roles in clinical practice, research, and education, giving me a broad perspective on mental health challenges and treatment approaches. I have worked extensively with veterans, trauma survivors, and individuals navigating intimate partner violence (IPV) or relationship-related concerns, as well as adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based, and integrative therapy that blends modern psychotherapies with mindfulness and Zen Buddhist principles. This approach helps students build resilience, self-compassion, and clarity. Therapy is tailored to each individual, offering practical tools for managing stress, navigating relationships, and balancing academic and personal demands. I offer secure telehealth sessions across California, making it easy for students to access support alongside their studies. I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can feel truly seen and heard, without judgment. Life’s challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about our path. My goal is to provide a space where you can show up exactly as you are, knowing you are supported and understood. I ensure that clients feel heard and understood by working collaboratively with them to stay on track with their goals. I invite regular feedback during sessions to ensure we are meeting their needs and addressing any concerns they may have. This ongoing communication helps me tailor the therapeutic process to their individual needs, fostering a sense of partnership and understanding. I build trust and a strong therapeutic alliance by prioritizing a safe and welcoming space in virtual therapy, free of judgment and shame. I use humor, creativity, and metaphors to help clients connect with deeper parts of themselves, making the process more engaging and meaningful. Additionally, I follow their lead and respect their pace when addressing difficult issues, which helps create a sense of safety, respect, and partnership in our work together. I’m a big believer in small, everyday rituals, whether that’s my morning coffee routine or my daily walk in nature. It often opens the door to conversations about balance, structure, and the importance of simple habits that support well-being.”
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner practicing in San Diego and through telehealth in the state of California. My approach to mental health involves the whole person, and we work together to focus on all aspects of life and health–emotional, social, and physical. In addition to training in psychiatric care, my background in social work, perinatal health, and sexuality education enriches my perspective and the care I provide. We will address lifestyle factors (sleep, exercise, diet, etc.) that, in addition to medication and therapy, impact a person’s overall well-being and mental health. I develop collaborative treatment plans with you and treat a broad range of conditions, with a particular interest in anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, ADHD, PTSD, and affirmative mental healthcare for gender-expansive and trans folks.

We all have the capacity for healing through self-discovery, self-awareness, and community. My role is to ease clients into a journey of healing, becoming more authentic in their creative works and relationships, and challenging inner dialogue that does not serve them by finding compassion and empathy for themselves. I engage my clients by creating a safe space where we can collaboratively work on developing a more intimate relationship with the "inner self." I'm a warm, intuitive, empathetic, and connected therapist who can be a witness to your journey. I primarily work from anti-racist, trauma-informed, attachment and somatic modes of therapy paying close attention to clients’ varying identities, intersection of these identities, and understanding their experience from a socio-cultural perspective. Mind-body connections, ancestral wisdom, social justice and multiculturalism are central to my approach. My passion and experience lies in working with young adults, artists and creatives, individuals from the BIPOC and LGBTQIA community, women, and partners engaging in family planning. I have significant experience in guiding individuals seeking gender confirming treatment, navigating medical systems, and exploring gender and sexual orientation identity.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area and know how much pressure comes with going to school in CA. I had mental health challenges that started in high school and continued through college. I was worried my self-worth, mood, and grades wouldn't recover, but working with a therapist helped a ton to get myself feeling like myself again. I offer an optimistic, collaborative approach to mental health. I believe you're the expert on your own life and experiences. I'm here to help you build confidence in your own intuitions and expand on what's possible from there. Like a sculptor carving out a work from stone, we start with the raw materials. In our case, it begins with unfiltered venting and time to feel. From there, we chisel away at the frustration and pain to find what these experiences are really telling you about your needs and who you are. Then, we make a plan to act with integrity. It's hard work, but it's empowering to remember the agency you have over your own life.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a love for holistic healing approaches. I go beyond talk-therapy, to treat issues including depression, anxiety, and trauma from multiple angles (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual). As is common with many therapists, therapy changed my life and ignited my desire to do the same for others. I told myself if I could help just one person the way my therapist helped me, my life’s purpose would be fulfilled. My approach isn’t traditional; I know that each individual needs tools and interventions tailored to their unique experiences. Furthermore, I understand that a sense of well-being goes far beyond the thoughts and emotions we may struggle with. I believe in treating the whole person; mind, body, and spirit. I blend evidenced-based western approaches to psychology, including DBT and ACT, with eastern wellness practices such as mindfulness and yoga. I’m a wholehearted, empathetic therapist, but I’m not afraid to challenge my clients if/when needed. Not every client I treat has a life-altering transition, but I’ve witnessed significant shifts in the majority of them while processing trauma and treating depression, anxiety, and panic disorders. It brings me joy to work with individuals from various backgrounds and orientations. I work hard to get to know all of the intimate details that make you a wondrously unique individual, so that you may feel seen, heard, and understood. More importantly, so that we may work together in creating your vision for your highest self.
