Life is tough! I recognize and understand that sometimes life knocks us down or throws us a curve ball. Every now and then it can make it hard to get out of bed, ignoring our everyday responsibilities. Sometimes it can make us very anxious, worrying all the time if the decisions we’re making are the right ones. Making difficult transitions in life (i.e. what college to go to, what job to accept and am I in the right relationship) can be stressful. Therapy is a great opportunity to gain a new perspective, to increase self-esteem and to feel more confident in the decisions we are making, re-framing those automatic negative thoughts.

Hey Hey! I'm Kayla (she/they)! Before I bore you with the therapy jargon, how about you get to know a little bit about who I am as a person first? If you catch me out around town, I am either bopping to the music in my headphones, reading, at a festival, or talking to a random stranger about their entire life story! I am a proud native of Charlotte, NC! I grew up helping out at my family’s restaurant, Sub One Hoagie House [shameless plug hehe] located in Uptown Charlotte. I can remember feeling so cool and infatuated by the idea that I had the opportunity to be so close to the Bank of America Stadium nearly every day of the week; which, until recently, I had still been calling the Panther’s Football Stadium… still sounds cooler to me! I have a passion for all things music; whether it be attending concerts, making music, or creating playlists that I am too scared to share with anyone else! In fact, I used to be one of the lead singers in a band where I'd travel on the weekends performing at weddings and other various corporate sponsored events. I've also been playing drums for over a decade and picked up guitar a few years ago; YouTube really comes in handy! I come from a very musical family if you hadn’t picked up on that :) Incorporating music, art, poetry/lyrics in sessions with clients is something I've seen to be very valuable, allowing my clients to tap into reflection and feeling that may otherwise be hard to express with just "regular ole'" talk-therapy! Those who know me would describe me as quirky, bubbly, and someone who has the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone, including a brick wall ☺ I love meeting new people while also continuing to build and foster the close relationships I already have. *Potentially* Fun Facts: - I like sunsets over sunrises. - I like music. -I like dancing. -I like talking. -I like the ocean. -I like mountainous terrain. -I like coffee. -I like smiling. -I like my dog (sometimes). - I like random facts. Okay.. Now, for the REAL reason you're here! I seek to provide a brave and encouraging space where clients are encouraged to speak from their own diverse and multicultural backgrounds, aiding in the ability to become more self-aware, self-accepting, and self-motivated. I co-create with clients to build a strong therapeutic relationship, discuss barriers to change, building self-encouragement, discussing techniques for change, and goal setting. I hope to help clients recognize limiting belief patterns and replace them with more functional and positive patterns of belief, behavior, and emotional expression. My approach to counseling combines elements of both Interpersonal and Developmental Psychotherapy, which focuses on the intersectionalities of a client’s development and their present behaviors, to help clients work toward productive change. Together, we will explore mutually agreed upon goals and treatment plans. Though it is impossible to guarantee any specific results regarding your goals or treatment plan, I assure you that I'll remain determined and attuned to your individual needs so you are able to achieve the best possible outcome. I welcome the opportunity to have a virtual meet and greet with you to determine whether we would be a great fit for one another in establishing a therapeutic relationship!

When is the last time you felt unconditionally accepted, exactly as you are? It's my belief and experience that among all of our deepest desires is the longing to be fully seen, validated, and loved, when all the masks are taken away - for who we truly and authentically are. I offer a safe, heartfelt, compassionate space in which individuals can reveal their deepest vulnerabilities. I specialize in working with trauma, women's issues, sexuality, grief, addictions recovery, and spiritual crisis / emergence. I offer individualized and personalized treatment. I utilize an inclusive approach to therapy that’s somatic, mindfulness-informed and nature-based. By allowing clients to reconnect with the wisdom of the body, the natural world, and the present moment, I hold a space for transformation. Does the thought of traveling to a therapist’s office feel like a barrier to getting help? My virtual sessions, conducted via video platform or phone, offer you support where and when you need it, from the comfort of your own home. Please don't hesitate to reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to your safe space. In my practice I strive to support individuals and/or couples while they are navigating gender identity issues, family conflict, relationship issues, and life transitions. I have a passion for working with the queer community as I realize the pressure, fear, and injustice that the community faces on a daily basis. As an ally, I work to advocate and support my clients in this community because it is important for everyone to have a safe space. During your time with me you can expect a welcoming environment that promotes wellness, and inclusivity. I hope to create an environment that allows you to show up as your full self, as messy as that may be. You can expect to laugh with me, be challenged by me, and most importantly be seen and supported by me. Therapy is not only helpful for treating mental illness or the most severe traumas; it can help with every aspect of life, from every day worries to the most devastating situations. My work for the past 10 years has involved helping children, teens, adults, and families find healing in difficult situations. This is my life's purpose, and I plan to continue this path by furthering my knowledge and providing high quality care to my clients. I have experience working with a broad range of disorders, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma, just to name a few.  I use a holistic approach in my work, where I consider not only mental factors, but also physical and spiritual factors. I combine aspects of traditional talk therapy with non-traditional approaches, including breathe therapy and meditation. I am certified in Eco-Systemic Family Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Empowering others to become leaders in their lives, no matter their life circumstances, is my goal for everyone who I am privileged to meet and work with. I welcome anyone who is in need of extra tools to help them along on their life journey. I look forward to joining you on your path to healing and accomplishing your goals.

Hi! My name is Karin and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I work with many different presenting concerns and help students tackle any difficulties that come up in their everyday life. In working together, my intention is and will always be to foster an environment that is filled with safety and trust, as well as void of judgment. Being vulnerable can be very difficult on its own, and it’s essential to me to create a space where vulnerability does not come with any more obstacles or barriers. I understand how hard it can be to talk about our problems and the issues we struggle with on a daily basis, and it’s important to me to create an environment where it is easier to talk about what’s going on. I deeply enjoy working with clients from all backgrounds and cultures and having the privilege to provide support along the way. I would love to meet you. Please reach out.
